Director - Regional Marketing Development (EMEA)

The primary objective of the regional marketing organization is to lead the transformation of business strategy into regionally relevant, inspiring marketing that creates customer value, revenue and growth. This role will lead a highly creative and collaborative team who help scientists working in research applications such as rare and inherited disease, oncology, reproductive health, human identification, metagenomics, microbiology and translational research to make the world cleaner, healthier and safer. This will be achieved by delivering inspiring and relevant marketing campaigns accompanied by commercial support programs. This role has team of marketing professionals to develop effective regional marketing programs to support Thermo Fisher sequencing solutions as well as to provide sales resources to best serve our customers consistent with Thermo Fisher Scientific standards and expectations is a key function of the role.

The success of this role will depend upon combining business priorities with cross-divisional synergies and establishing the right KPIs.

Major Responsibilities

This individual’s responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following specific responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Regional Marketing Development Managers, who set and enable a strategic, multi-channel integrated marketing plan including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, sales funnels, and staging and pacing of tactical programs.
  • Ensure a financially sound operation with solid corporate governance and compliance. Manage the business’s budget appropriately. Responsibility for Marketing OpEx and ensuring the ROI of marketing activities in line with EMEA targets.
  • Partner with other members of the management team, globally and in the region, to formulate cross-functional strategies for accelerated growth.
  • Work collaboratively with Divisional Global Market Development leaders with input to strategy and create tactical campaigns, programs and projects that can be deployed in EMEA taking into consideration the needs of the regional markets and commercial organization.
  • Partner with the EMEA commercial leaders to support the creation of Marketing activities that support the revenue achievement of this division
  • Monitor market intelligence; macroeconomics, and the regulatory environment.

Ideal Experience

  • Leading teams in a business unit or a marketing function
  • Experienced in developing relationships and gaining the endorsements of key opinion leaders
  • Significant experience a marketing role including participating in market analysis and planning.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical, project management and planning reporting skills are essential.
  • Business development skills and cross-functional team experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate marketing strategy into tactical plans and execute against those plans.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Travel is required (25%)
