Location: Zagreb, Croatia

About Opportunity

Reporting directly to Head of Communication SECE, as part of Global Communication Strategy, as a Communication Officer you will co-develop and implement comprehensive communication strategy for designated countries of South-East and Central Europe MCO.

You will maintain plans for internal and external communications (including crisis communication, public relations, social media strategy, CSR etc.), ensuring they are in line with MCO strategy and aligned with global corporate objectives and address own scope’s specific business needs.

Key Responsibilities include:

Within communication department we are searching to appoint a skilled in communications person, having strong communication background in all pillars of communication: corporate, product brand, internal communication and corporate social responsibility, by using different channels of communication such as: TV, print, digital and etc. and being acquainted with new trends and tools of communication such as social media, influencers relations, integrated digital campaigns, native content, digital advertising campaigns etc.

The new Communication Officer is to support Communication department in order to strengthen the department capabilities in all aspects of communications, focusing on new channels of communication. To boost external corporate presence of Sanofi and thus to increase corporate brand awareness and visibility, by leveraging local capabilities and effectiveness in markets such as Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia. To build strong local media relations as native speaker and support crisis communication management, working closely with local media/PR/digital agencies at place. To support internal communication and internal and external digital channels creation.

Preferred location is Croatia due to main launches planned from BUs in next 3 years, but can be located in Serbia as well.

Key deliverables:

  • Co-develop communication strategies related to BUs, awareness campaigns, product launches, promotional campaigns toward external audiences, but also being able to support internal communication bringing significant contribution of leveraging local activities
  • Acts as an ambassador of the corporate image in her/his scope of activities. Co-develops tactics to support corporate image and reputation on local level and ensures effective implementation toward all internal & external channels, including digital channels
  • Defines comprehensive implementation plan including: external communications, media relations, other key external stakeholders (KOLs), traditional & digital media, image & reputation, CSR, internal communications (in coordination with business, public affairs and all relevant stakeholders)
  • Develops key messages, Q&A and press releases on each topic and anticipate potential media issues, in relations with appropriate experts, in designated countries
  • Be responsible for implementation of digital promotional and advertising campaigns, including media buying activities, digital media planning & buying, incl. in social media in coordination with media & PR agencies
  • Be able to create and ensure engaging social media channels feature/ organizations’ website/ company Intranet, email bulletins, video content, and that promotes the organization’s external communications priorities, analyses content performance
  • Manages sponsorship and SCR/philanthropy activities according to corporate procedures and in coordination with all relevant stakeholders
  • Reacts quickly to local issues and manages situations in conjunction with appropriate corporate and local teams
  • Manages external vendors, including communications, event, media buying and digital agencies

About You

To excel in this role, you will need to have:

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor/ Master’s degree in PR and Communications or Philology
  • At least 5 years of previous experience in role in communications, preferably in a global company
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate through complex organizations and develop relationships
  • Effective crisis management
  • Previous experience in managing Digital campaigns
  • Employer brand perception
  • Willing and capable to cooperate well with colleagues from all relevant departments in a matrix organization
  • Adapting in complex situations
  • Cross-country and cross-functional collaboration
  • To Act in line with all ethical & compliance rules of the Group and all applicable industry codes
  • Innovative, self-driven and creative
  • Consistent and acting with integrity; Knowledge of internal policies and procedures
  • Punctual, able to handle pressure and committed to and respect deadlines
  • Fluent English language skills, written and spoken
  • Local language native
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)

It would be advantageous to have (not essential):

  • Knowledge about pharma industry and pharma products
  • Bachelor/ Master's degree in Marketing
