The Key Account Manager in his/her territory

  • Establishes relationships with identified KOLs, cooperative groups and key external audiences.
  • Develops and implements local KOL Plans, with local brand team and in agreement with plans.
  • Is responsible for field visits of all KOLs minimum 10x per year of all doctors and important doctors (doctors who make decisions) in MM & MDS minimum1x per month; shared accountability with Field Product Manager and Country Manager for sales results.
  • Implements and disseminates high quality medical and scientific educational programs. Gives clinical and scientific presentations at sites / cooperative groups / hospital formularies.
  • Identifies new business opportunities.
  • Works to ensure prioritization of key customers.
  • Develops required qualitative and quantitative reports. Collates competitor information.
  • Ensures medical/legal excellence and compliance
  • Keeps up to date with market trends and new developments utilizing information for business improvement.
  • Develops required qualitative and quantitative reports; collates competitor information within Celgene regulations.

    Skills / Knowledge Required
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and an efficient implementer.
  • Hands-on and can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator (internally and externally).
  • Open style, pro-active communication and being at ease in different cultures.
  • Medical or scientific education or experience in similar position. 1+ year experience in industry.
  • Experience in sales force.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand and communicate technical clinical material clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to develop critical relationships with physicians, nurses and ancillary staff within academic hospitals, clinics, and private practice facilities.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic, ability to develop priorities and manage time appropriately, integrates innovative ideas, and works with all members of a team appropriately in order to accomplish corporate and individual objectives
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements (e.g. country specific promotion guidelines)
  • Network of customer contacts in the field of hematology
  • Team player
  • Willingness to travel; possesses valid driver’s license
  • Strong identification with Celgene’s values
